One of the main attractions at the Belchertown Fair is the pulling contests. On Saturday we have Horse pulls and Sunday is the Ox pulls are available for your viewing pleasure. In times past, teams of large animals were used for work on farms. Currently these teams are more often used in these contests of strength and driving skills as the teamster and animals become one to pull the heaviest weight. Visit the contest to become educated and entertained. On Sunday, an extra treat is thrown in when young teamsters and their young teams to show off what they have learned. Laughs are always in store. Pick a team and root for your favorite. Although it is fun for us, it is serious work for the teamsters, as they compete for prize money.
