Celebrating 150 Years with Fireworks!!!!
The skies over Belchertown will be aglow with fabulous fireworks as the kick off event of this year’s 150th fair. It’s the perfect way to commemorate the year’s incredible milestone event. As word of the fireworks got out, the enthusiasm started and the display grew. The fireworks will kick off on Thursday, September 20 th at 7:30 p.m. at Chestnut Hill Community School. Beginning at 5:30 pm , the crowd will be entertained by the music of Shocker, a local band that is partially donated.
The event is expected to be well attended and safety is always a concern. Several town departments are doing their part in the spirit of community. Belchertown Fire Department will provide a presence during the entire day for setup and during the display. EMS will have an ambulance on scene. Chief Fox has committed Community Policing Grant money to assist in providing the many officers it will take to cover this event. We ask your assistance during the event as well. Parking volunteers will be directing you. Please do not park on the grass unless directed to. Parking is available at all contiguous school lots . Access roads must be kept open for everyone’s safety.
It has already been said that there are plenty of great seats all around the base of the school and on the grassy knoll, as well as across the street at the soccer field. So come early with your lawn chairs or your blankets, get something to eat at the Football Association food booth and prepare to be dazzled by this wonderful addition to this year’s celebration!!
Thanks to our sponsors this event will be one to be remembered:
