Welcome to the home of Belchertown Fair. We are a family oriented community fair that honors our agricultural roots. The fair is held on the town common in the center of Belchertown. Although organized by a small group of dedicated volunteers, hundreds of community members work year round to make this the great event it has become. Please browse this website. This time of year the website is a mix. We are catching our breath and soon will begin the plans for 2014. We invite you to look thru the website to get a flavor of what you missed this year. But our first priority right now is to say:
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU
WOW, great food, music and weather created another great year. Set up went better than any year. You came early and stayed late. Over and over we heard, it’s gon’na be a great weekend and it was. The little bit of rain did nothing to dampen your spirits and activity. The mosquitos stayed home and the Belchertown Herd came to have fun. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. We appreciate your continuing support more than you can imagine. The old saying of “it takes a village…” is certainly true of this event and we appreciate your help and support more than you can imagine. If you do not find your name in the Many Thanks 2013 Volunteers below ,it’s only our memory and fatigue that make us forgetful. Thanks again for all you do. We would be remiss if we didn’t remind you that we are always looking for more volunteers. It is fun, a great way to meet people and celebrate the best Belchertown has to offer. See you all next year Mark, Cindy, Kevin, Carla, Marguerite, Cathy, Shawn, Scott and Bill.
BELCHERTOWN CRITICAL RISK EEE
As many of you know, Belchertown has been designated as being at Critical Risk for EEE, a mosquito borne illness. There have been 2 animal cases identified in the past few weeks. This is a rare but potentially dangerous illness for humans. There are many rumors circulating as to the impact this will have on Fair activities. As of today ,August 30,based on Board Of Health recommendation, the previously scheduled fireworks will NOT be held. The EEE situation is being closely monitored. All schedule changes and updates will be posted on this website and the Channel 5 public access station. It is advised that you educate yourself and take all reasonable precautions to minimize risk for you and your family. August 30, 2013
