WELCOME TO THE HOME

OF THE 159th BELCHERTOWN FAIR

September 23, 24, and 25 ,2016

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU

This weekend “Crowing “ took many different forms. We saw lots of roosters and the familiar black silhouette perched in trees as well as Peter Pan who made a guest appearance. As usual the creativity was there to add to a booth, parade or hall entry. We had great food, music, weather and fun. We are still crowing ourselves!! We just can’t crow loud enough to thank all of you that make this event possible. While some of us work all year, when the time comes, it takes so many more to make it happen. The entire DPW crew added to their regular work to help us create the Fair grounds. Special thanks this year to Dave and Chris for their part with new bench construction. When weather threatened to derail tent setup, volunteers changed their plans and showed up so tents went up in record time. Many volunteers showed up after a last minute plea to keep Farmer for a Day open. The Boy Scouts rose to the occasion and provided the Color Guard at the last minute. We have an outstanding setup and tear down crew on the common with Garry, Paul, Mark, Bill, Cindy, Scott, Carla and Shawn. All efforts, big or small make a difference. If we have forgotten your name, it is not that we don’t appreciate it, simply that we have failed in our fatigue.

They say, “it takes a village”. Truer words were never spoken. The Fair is a product of our village. Thanks to all of you for helping make this happen. The “Belchertown Village” has much to crow about.

Mark Nute, Carla Chaisson, Cindy& Kevin Brown, Cathy Terry, Bill Austin, Wendy Chevalier, Shawn Lindholm, Scott Brown, Bonnie Bower and Sandy Brougham.

THE THEME OF 159th FAIR IS:

“SOMETHING TO CROW ABOUT”

This theme means many things to many people, We are proud of our accomplishments. The poultry farmers  think it’s for them. The vegetables farmers think it’s to celebrate the  Blue Ribbon winners they bring to the Exhibit hall. It could be a nod to the crows used in the fall harvest displays, And every proud parent in the Baby Contest know it is about the most beautiful baby they have entered for all to see.  What does it mean to you?
